Position Responsibilities:

We seek those who share in our commitment to further development of our Dragon Suite of Security Solutions.

The Enterasys Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) is unique in its ability to gather evidence of an attacker's activity, remove the attacker's access to the network, and reconfigure the network to resist the attacker's penetration technique. The IPS stops attacks at the source of the threat and can proactively protect against future threats and vulnerabilities. Offering an extensive range of detection capabilities, host-based and network-based deployment options, a portfolio of IPS appliances, and seamless integration with Enterasys switching, network management and advanced security applications. Enterasys IPS utilizes a state-of-the-art high-performance, multi-threaded architecture with virtual sensor technology that scales to protect even the largest enterprise networks. 

 As a key member of our Dragon development team, you will:

• Contribute to extend Dragon's protocol decoding capabilities with an emphasis on attack detection
• Improve packet inspection runtime in order to maximize attack detection at ever increasing network speeds.
• Enhance the Dragon signature language to allow better characterization of attacks that hide within increasingly complex application layer communications.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field

• Expertise C and C++ software development
• Keen interest in network security
• Experience developing and debugging in a Linux development environment
• TCP/IP networking programming experience
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to contribute as a team player

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with network security tools such as nmap, tcp replay, wireshark, and tcp dump
• Basic Linux/Unix system administration skills
• Practical knowledge of intrusion detection techniques
• Understanding of application and O/S vulnerability exploitation

Interactions:
The Candidate will work with other members of the Engineering Team and Quality Assurance. In addition the candidate may interact with other departments including Product Management and our security research team.
