Allied Insurance seeks a CA Casualty Claims Specialist who will reside in and cover a field territory that encompasses the greater Kern County area.
JOB SUMMARY: Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and brings to a final resolution, personal lines bodily injury/liability claims and limited commercial lines casualty claims of a severe nature via both telephone and face-to-face investigation and/or negotiations. Responsible for the disposition of claims in accordance with prescribed authorization and according to best claims practices. Focused on providing world class customer service to all customers.
Experience: Six years related liability and bodily injury claims handling experience.
Knowledge: Proven knowledge of the investigation, negotiation and settlement activities used to resolve severe bodily injury claims. Advance knowledge of causality claims best practices, medical terminology and liability analysis.
Skills: Proven analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict in such areas as application of coverage to submitted claims, application of laws of jurisdiction to investigation facts, application of policy exclusions and exceptions. Proven ability to successfully negotiate BI claims, including the ability to interpret medical reports. Proven ability to direct defense counsel in suit handling from inception to conclusion. Proven organizational skills to effectively prioritize work. Oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate and/or negotiate with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, physicians, agents and the general public. Proven personal computer use ability and proficiency with claims and business software.
