UFP Technologies is a critical link in the value chain between raw material suppliers and OEMs. Our team acts as an extension of customers' in-house research, engineering and manufacturing groups, working closely with them to solve their most complex product and packaging challenges. Using foams, plastics, composites, and natural fiber materials, we design and manufacture a vast range of solutions primarily for six target markets: medical, automotive, aerospace and defense, electronics, consumer, and industrial.
We are looking for an energetic, career oriented professional to fill an exciting opportunity as a CAD Supervisor located in Glendale Heights, Illinois.
Primary Functions:
· Perform and supervise all related engineering activities to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
· Take ownership of a project from inception to completion.
· Ensure all assigned projects are profitable and designed to fit within company capabilities and material profile.
· Identify non-value added tasks and eliminate waste. Recommend and implement process improvements.
· Maintain the workflow within the department, designating work assignments.
· Daily interaction with customers, vendors, sales personnel, production floor and the plant manager to successfully complete projects.
· Training and individual development of the engineering team.
· Maintaining employees’ adherence to company policy.
· Conduct meetings in support of departmental improvement initiatives.
· Design and order necessary tooling.
Required Experience:
· Minimum 2 years of Auto CAD and Solid works experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Master Cam-CNC programming experience.
· Cushion Packaging Designer with prototype making ability.
· The ability to affectively manage growth, change, and continuous department improvements.
· Knowledge of quality systems, ISO-9000 and ISO-13485.
· Knowledge of foams and plastics materials as well as manufacturing methods and processes a plus.
· Statistical process development and control as well as lean manufacturing a plus.
Required Education / Training:
· Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
