Description:
Administers testing procedures to determine the extent of patient's impairment and the prognosis for improvement. Identifies pertinent patient problems.
Sets functional, objective and measurable treatment goals that incorporate patient goals.
Establishes appropriate treatment plans.
Performs treatment procedures and adapts equipment and therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients.
Reevaluates patients, modifies treatment plans and procedures based on patient progress.
Provides objective, analytic documentation of patient care and patient/family education.
Appropriately documents information regarding units of service.
Communicates with medical/allied health personnel regarding patient progress, needs and discharge planning.
Performs patient-related care activities as described in the minimal competencies outline.
Participates in the clinical instruction of Physical Therapy students.
Participates in the supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants.
Participates in the supervision of Rehab Aides.
Complies with all insurance regulations.
Participates in Quality Assurance programs.
Attends meetings, as required.
Qualifications:
Physical Effort:
- Daily assignments may include prolonged standing, transporting material, equipment, patients, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 lbs.) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day.
Education Required:
- Bachelors Degree
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 1 year related experience preferred.
Other Certifications/Licensure:
- Physical Therapy - MA
- CPR

In December 2006, RHCI became the first hospital in the country to incorporate into clinical practice use of the NESS L300 neuroprosthesis to improve walking after stroke and brain injury.
