Position Description


 


A rapidly growing company is seeking a technically strong and hands on Chief Information Officer to manage the overall tactical and strategic direction of its corporate information technology (IT) organization. Individual will have previously worked successfully in a dynamic, fast paced entrepreneurial environment for at least five years as a CIO or Director of IT.  Individual must have a very strong customer service experience and excellent recommendations in this area.


 


Position Objective


Align IT with the business and effectively manage the daily execution of all IT operations and projects, as well as IT support for the corporation. Provide strategic IT advice and guidance to the corporation on IT related matters.


Establish and manage a “world class” client services organization through direct personal and hands on participation.


The CIO will be responsible for creating and implementing enterprise-wide systems (especially a corporate infrastructure) that are maintained and operated in an efficient and secure manner providing the scalability to grow rapidly through acquisition and expanded business.


 


The CIO will team with business peers to leverage IT products and services and build IT enabled business strategies that offer a competitive advantage for the company & affiliate-wide IT programs that prove both effective and cost beneficial.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Work closely with C level staff to drive strategy and tactical execution to build a first rate IT organization and systems in support of the business and scalable to dynamic, acquisitive growth on a common platform

 



  • Insure and maintain an excellent current internal client services operation through direct personal and hands on participation.

 


 



  • Implement enterprise systems in support of the business that create significant efficiencies and cost reductions in all corporate operations

 



  • Proactively providing optimal application solutions to make all employees more efficient and effective

 



  • Ensure confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property

 



  • Assess, re-design or replace legacy systems and ensure appropriate links to ensure optimal support during the conversion process

 



  • Provide information on new products and services while benchmarking with the industry best practice organizations to ensure the Company maintains a leading edge in its information systems infrastructure

 



  • Lead a Corporate IT Governance process working closely with the top management and department heads. Help to prioritize and coordinate IT activities and plans, while working closely with the Governance Committee on requests for IT related changes or new products, and ensuring that approved projects are completed within specified deadlines

 



  • Manage IT client(user) and customer relations

 



  • Provide project management expertise, oversight, and guidance for all IT projects

 


        Develop IT budgets and ensure budget adherence


 


        Provide accurate cost and schedule projections of needed software, hardware and personnel resources, thereby increasing the efficiency and decreasing the costs for the company


 



  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the IT department, meeting schedules with accurate work and results, minimum staff turnover, and limited down time

 



  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, train, retain, and supervise IT staff

 



  • Ensure the integrity of all information systems and corporate information through the implementation and maintenance of established system management practices and controls in the areas of:

        General IT Management      


        Project Management


        Change Management


        Systems Development


        Security Management


        Network Management


        Data Management


        Business Continuity,


        Physical & Environmental Management


        Quality Assurance


 


Supervision Required


Individual must work with a minimum of direction.  Keeps executive management well informed of progress, along with associated issues, of activities assigned to IT.


 


People Contact


 


Executive management, all departments heads, appropriate staff throughout the company, outside vendor, and consultants.


Educational/Knowledge Requirements


 


Technical degree in IT related field. An MBA is very desirable.


 


Work Experience Required


 


Minimum of 12-15 years experience required, which must include at least 5 years as a CIO responsible for all infrastructure and enterprise software and strategic systems planning and implementation for a $150 million or larger company with more than 250 employees at several locations. Must have extensive knowledge and hands on implementation experience in infrastructure design and management; business continuity planning and execution; disaster recovery planning and execution; storage systems; hosting systems; IT methods; software selection and implementations; vendor management and implementation. Eight years proven IT project management experience required. Solid business process development and very strong IT infrastructure implementation skills are a must required.


 


Compensation


 


Compensation package is in the range of $150,000 - $225,000, made up of a salary and performance bonuses.
