Civil Engineer/Project Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the study, design, specification and services of transportation systems (road, rail, airport/airfield, seaport), bridges, infrastructure, drainage, underground utilities, hydrology/hydraulics, water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, water resources and raw water supply, tunnels, geotechnical design, vertical construction and other civil engineering works for military installations. Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates, and contract documents. Resolve engineering issues and develop work break down structures. Analyze data and perform calculations. Evaluate subcontractor bid scope (technical evaluations) and work with outside engineering firms to develop designs. Perform site inspections, and support construction in the field, as well as from the home office.
Position is contingent upon award of contract(s), and may be based in either the Middle East or North Africa.
REQUIREMENTS
· 5 – 10 years of related experience in design, design management, construction, military airfields, waste water treatment and potable water production, utilities, roads and vertical design/construction
· Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
· Proficiency utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc. preferred
· Previous experience supporting federal government or military projects preferred
· United States Air Force (USAF) Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) experience desirable
· Active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance a plus
