This $100 Million dollar project expected to open in 2011 will include the city’s first Urgent Care facility, as well as the Elliot 1-Day Surgery Center, diagnostic imaging, breast health, endoscopy, pain management, physical rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, laboratory services, durable medical equipment, and more, including an 800-car parking garage.

Department and Position Overview:
Elliot has Southern NH’s first and only dedicated pediatric emergency department. We have plans to develop pediatric intensive care capabilities, and strengthen and grow our intermediate care capabilities, which augment our 19 bed pediatric unit. Our robust pediatric hospitalist service is responsible for managing over 50% of the pediatric admissions. We have recently hired a full-time Pediatric Surgeon, and are actively recruiting additional pediatric specialists as we are seeking to create a Children’s Hospital within Elliot Health System. As part of the pediatric services rapid program growth, we are developing a child life specialist program, which you will have the opportunity to build and oversee. With these and many other exciting initiatives, this is an incredible time to have the opportunity to join Elliot as the Clinical Nurse Manager for Pediatric Services!
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the incumbent will oversee Elliot’s Pediatric Services, which includes 19 bed pediatric unit with capabilities for additional observation/out-patient beds, as well as 4 intermediate care beds with central monitoring capabilities. Responsible for overseeing a staff of ~20 FTE’s, including RN’s, LNA’s, Pediatric Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, the individual will assess the departmental structure, set goals and a vision for the department, and engage, mentor, develop, and motivate staff to accomplish exciting initiatives, to develop and grow programs, enhance departmental efficiency, and to maximize productivity. The individual will establish and foster positive and collaborative relationships with the pediatric surgeon(s), pediatric specialists, and all staff. In collaboration with our adult ICU, the incumbent will develop a pediatric intensive care unit. You will develop and oversee the Child Life Specialist program as well as strengthen the Pediatric Intermediate Care Program. The individual will also provide educational and clinical support to all staff. Additional responsibilities include adherence to all regulatory agency standards, i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, HIPPA, and other appropriate standards of care. The incumbent will also develop and maintain the departmental budget through collaboration with the Director of Patient Care Services, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be an RN. BSN is required and an MSN is strongly preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of New Hampshire is required.
- 3+ years of clinical experience, as well as previous health care management experience in an acute healthcare institution within pediatric intensive or intermediate care are required.
- Must be a self-starter, and an excellent problem solver with excellent leadership and communication skills.
