Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing the profit and loss of the assigned product line and meeting revenue targets including volumes, margin, fee income and expenses where applicable.

Creates annual business plan and forecasts for product line and updates forecasts monthly. Initiates and leads project to resolve gaps impacting product performance such as technology systems, sales training, incentive programs, competitive pricing issues and process improvements.

Provides vision, leadership and strategic guidance in developing and implementing Company products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet Company and shareholder objectives.

Recognized outside and inside the Company as an expert providing a foundation of knowledge to guide decisions throughout the product definition, pricing and overall management. Ensures effective ways to deliver complete solutions to identify market problems and ensures gaps are identified and filled.

Reviews and approves business and expense plans and tracks success and effectiveness of product development delivery and implementation.

Manages the identification of competitive offerings in the market and their strengths and weaknesses. Prioritizes the presence and relative importance of key product deliverables. Ensures the successful design of end-to-end processes for development, implementation, use, reporting and feedback on developed products.

Ensures that own work, as well as work of any employees supervised, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on Company intranet policies include but are not limited to Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering policies.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Travel Required
2. Develops pricing strategies that are approved by the ALCO and then manages to those strategies on a daily basis. Often works with the Treasury group to improve their cost of funds and eliminate market risk where possible and with distribution teams to collect and incorporate local information.
3. Actively manages the volume rate trade off through their pricing actions. Acts as Company's experts when it comes to understanding the consumers of their products and use this knowledge to constantly improve their product line, occasionally implementing new products as well as provide this knowledge to the Marketing team to improve the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Understands that those employees who sell and service customers directly improve their support for their products when they are easy to understand, easy to explain and easy to sell. Works closely with other head office groups to develop and coordinate processes and policies that improve the capabilities of customer facing channels.
4. Understands the elasticity of pricing and where fees can be used to offset costs or thin margins. Develops and implements fee changes, coordinating the efforts of the various groups within the bank that are required to support any changes.
5. Understands the processes that are used to sell and service their product lines and works with all areas of the bank to improve efficiency.
6. Actively manages own expenses and often are the direct point of contact for vendors and suppliers that support their product line.
