CMM/PC-DMIS Programmer
Responsibilities of CMM Programmer Include:
Create CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS software, to include set-up instructions.
Inspect complex machined fixtures, and parts using advanced measuring and layout instruments and equipment, visual and mechanical inspection methods. Participates in design reviews on cross-functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications, inspect ability, reliability, safety, and quality system objectives are met.
Assist engineers with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts.
Very fluent in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and the application of AMSE Y14.5M.
Use of common gages and measurement instruments for inspection purposes.
Proficient in surface plate tools and techniques.
Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.
Create First Article
Analyze Inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, processing procedures and adequacy of the facilities to insure quality of manufacture.
Work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
Maintain a clean work area ensuring strict adherence to the 5S Standards.
Comply with established safety directives.
Comply with established QMS procedures.
Education and Skills Requirements:
High school diploma and 10+ years related experience; two year degree or some college credits preferred.
6 years of PC-DMIS programming experience
Aerospace industry experience preferred.
Previous application of quality tools including CMM, open set-ups, and a variety of hand inspection tools to ensure parts conform to all drawing requirements and specifications.
Good working knowledge of 3D Modeling
Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings, and 3D models and be very fluent in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and the application of ASME Y14.5M
Experience working with Mil and industry specifications, QMS, and AQL.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, attention to detail
Familiar with ISO/AS Quality Management System requirements.
