CMM Technician

Brief Description
 
Collaborate and implement a system to optimize the usage of the DCC-CMM and reduce inspection time. Cross train inspection personnel on DCC-CMM operation.

Key Accountabilities
 
  • Identify product for DCC-CMM inspection
  • Write programs for DCC-CMM
  • Organize and control DCC-CMM inspection programs
  • Trains inspection personnel on DCC-CMM operation
  • Completes dimensional inspection on DCC-CMM
  • Controls Digital Product Definition (DPD) datasets per Boeing Specification D6-51991
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Job Requirements:
Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors
  •  3 years experience in the operation and full utilization of both manual CMM (Mitutoyo) and DCC-CMM (Brown & Sharpe – Global Performance 9128).
  • 3 years experience in the application and utilization of PC DMIS CAD ++ Software Version 4.3 (DCC-CMM).
  • 3 years experience in the programming of both Manual CMM and DCC-CMM; ability to program DCC-CMM from Model Based Definitions (MBD) in CATIA (current version) platform. 
  • Possess the ability and necessary skills to both inspect products and train QC personnel in the operation of both manual CMM and DCC-CMM. 
  • Possess the ability to both evaluate and recommend CMM and DCC-CMM hardware and software improvements, to improve performance and/or utilization, in a cost-effective approach.
  • Possess the understanding of, or willingness to learn, required processes for the control (receipt, usage and distribution) of Digital Product Definition (DPD) datasets per the requirements of Boeing Specification D6-51991.
  • Possess the ability to fully manage the established Digital Product Definition (DPD) processes and procedures at PSI Bearings.
  • Effective communicator; possess strong verbal and written communication skills – must be able to directly interface with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers in CMM related issues as they may arise.
  • Willing to travel locally, as required, to assist suppliers in the proper operation and utilization of CMM (various models) in the inspection of product being provided to PSI Bearings.
  • Strong organization skills
