CEi seeks a Software Systems Engineer/CMMI Process Expert for our Wichita, KS office. Position starts in early January 2010.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads efforts to mature corporate software engineering processes, first to CMMI Level 2 and then to Level 3.
- Revises software processes and associated documentation.
- Trains company personnel in new software processes and procedures.
- Plans for internal assessments and formal SCAMPI appraisals.
- Conducts internal audits of all company programs to evaluate CMMI compliance.
- Recommends new tools and methods for software development.
- Briefs management on progress.
- Directs the activities of one or more software engineers in support of these efforts.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in related discipline
- 5-7 years of related experience in computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experienced with the software development life cycle and software process improvement efforts for a US government procurement program.
- Proficient with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for software, as defined by the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (CMU-SEI).
- Proficient with the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI).
- Familiarity with aerospace software applications, such as autopilot code and other embedded systems, mission planners, and ground support equipment software, is desirable.
- 25% Travel.
- Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
