The Opportunity

The CMS/MIS Administrator administrates the Online Division’s Curriculum Management System (CMS). Manages data transfer and migration between the CMS and the Company database.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages course readiness and launch schedules, including online course testing schedules.
  • Creates student and faculty log on access to the CMS. Coordinates with orientation staff to ensure all students are able to log in and complete orientation.
  • Approves, schedules, plans and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to CMS systems. Coordinates and implements updates, upgrades and patches to limit loss of service.
  • Collaborates with development teams and vendors to discuss, analyze or resolve usability issues.
  • Manages data transfer between CMS and Company database ensuring timely and accurate migration of registration, attendance and grade data.
  • Modify existing databases and database managing systems or request programmers and analysts to make changes. Reviews project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
  • Prepares reports to define and evaluate problems and recommend solutions.
    Analyses information obtained to conceptualize and define operational problems. Gathers and maintains information on computer access issues and resolves problems in collaboration with HQ IT and contractor help desk personnel.
  • Analyzes user requirements, performs system audits insuring data integrity, identifies problems and initiates corrective action. Recommends changes in methods or procedures to increase efficiency of the system function.
  • Writes testing plans and scripts. Performs testing on new initiatives. Oversees user acceptance testing.
  • Performs end users’ help desk function for purposes of training, query development, and issue resolution.
  • Trains Marketing employees to increase their knowledge and skills of Marketing systems and additional
    functionalities.
  • Analyzes, designs and produces ad hoc, regular and custom reports.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in IT or a related field from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
  • At least two years related experience with a thorough understanding and ability to diagnose and repair Intel-based hardware is necessary. Experience with learning systems administration and/or collegiate software systems is preferred. HTML and Visual Basic experience is a plus.
  • Efficiently and effectively utilize a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Office, Access and large scale databases.
  • Experience in organizing and writing reports of a technical nature. Able to communicate technical information in a simple manner to all levels of employees with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
  • Proven educational or administrative experience in solving problems for individuals or teams. Experience with analyzing and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of options and exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills.
  • Strong work ethic, timely and accurately organize, prioritize and complete all job responsibilities.
  • Proven record of multi-tasking and ability to handle a high pressure environment with timeline pressures.
  • Work in a harmonious manner, interact in a cooperative and professional manner with others, work in a team environment.
  • Evening and weekend hours required.
