A northwest suburban manufacturing company is currently seeking to fill a full-time position for a CNC Machine / Service Technician. They will work directly with customers to keep their operations up and running at peak efficiency. Service Technicians will install new systems, perform software and firmware updates (when defined), transfer technical knowledge to end users and escalate unresolved issues as needed. A service technician is a customer trusted person who drives an important segment of the technical interactions and builds a long-term relationship with the customer operations team.


 


 


What we offer


CNC programming and operating machine equipment
Prototyping and customer sampling as well as production runs
Travel (anywhere between 25-50%) to our customer’s locations throughout North America to troubleshoot, repair, and install our customer’s machines
Must be proficient, and willing to be trained, and assist in machine set-up, and installation
Participate in the manufacturing of material production, and all activities when required
 

Qualification:

Who we are looking for


High School diploma (or equivalent)
Higher education preferred (technical, trade school) 
3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role, and job function
Has CNC programming experience 
Working knowledge on the general and technical aspects of high-end digital equipment operation and pneumatics
Mechanically skilled in disassembling and assembling of machinery, including troubleshooting and components replacement
Can read blueprints, drawings and schematics
Electrical expertise in high-voltage electrical safety procedures as pertaining to machinery. Experience and ability to determine the voltage of exposed energized parts and identification of hazards
Proficient in Electronics, including reading wiring schematics
Proficient at following and creating documentation of electrical, mechanical, software, maintenance and repair procedures 
Experience servicing industrial equipment
Basic experience in 3D CAD software as a regular user – open drawings, export STL files, print. As a plus, some experience in 3D CAD Design, CAM and/or PLM software as a regular user
Knowledgeable with manufacturing materials such as 2-component crosslinking systems
SAP experience desired, but not necessary
Ability to drive a forklift using safe practices
Has knowledge of cGMP
Understands the use of PPE
Has experience in adhering to ISO 9001 standards and procedures
Has knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety guidelines
Equipment Specialists demonstrate the technical competencies above in a high performance environment
Customer facing experience including the ability to train machine operators or groups
Good communication skills
Experience writing technical reports
Flexible, initiative, with the ability to multitask
Able to work independently or in a team
Can work with minimal supervision
Meet timeline with full commitment to quality and safety
Other  Travel required, often on short notice  Valid driving license  Valid passport, or ability to acquire one
