CNC Machinistists for 1st and 2nd shifts in Wichita, KS. We have openings for 5 eight hour days and also 3 twelve hour days.
We are seeking an individual who understands and is committed to achieving daily and weekly production goals, who understands and practices "Lean Manufacturing" techniques, such as maintaining a clean, efficient and safe work area.
This person must also be able to:
- Work independently to operate one or more CNC Mills.
- Develop skills toward becoming Cell Lead or Shift Leader
- Read and understand blue prints, control plans and measurement plans.
- Handle changeovers without assistance.
- Perform offsets without assistance.
- Read and write code at the machine without assistance.
- Handle machine adjustments and troubleshooting to meet productivity standards.
- Train other operators and machinists to meet company guidelines and requirements.
- Measure part for conformance to print specifications using define measuring instruments.
- Diligently follow procedures for nonconformance parts.
- Maintain all required paper work.
- Ensures that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company procedures and meet the quality standards in place.
- Adhere to safety manual and work instructions related to safety.
- Must be thorough in completing full tasks
- Uses time effectively
- Additional duties may be assigned and/or required as part of the essential functions of the position.
Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in machining industry operating CNC mills.
- Strong preference will be given to individuals who have experience manufacturing aerospace structural parts.
- Must possess good communication skills and be able to coach teammates on new parts and processes.
- Demonstrated adherence to quality standards and work instructions
- Track record of precision and attentiveness to details
- Willingness to take ownership for and act upon quality problems
- Willingness to be evaluated on making a good part the first time.
- Must be able to identify visual defects.
- Must be proficient in checking production parts.
- Must be proficient using production gauging.
- Must be able to effectively use a variety of measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, etc…
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand at machine for several hours to perform adjustments and control of parts
- Must be able to lift and bend to perform functions.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of thirty pounds properly.
