
DESCRIPTION: Provide desktop support for approximately 69 New Jersey Transit locations dispersed throughout the state. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how PCs operate in a complex LAN/WAN environment with the potential for full time employment. The following are the various tasks that this position will be responsible for:
1) Troubleshoot and resolve PC related software/hardware problems.
2) Install and or replace computer equipment as required.
3) Assist with auditing and inventorying software/hardware/serial numbers on all PC's.
4) Upgrade PCs' operation systems at all locations.
5) Assist with inventorying and disposition of old computer equipment.
6) Assist with implementation of new software (electronic forms, Microsoft Office, Internet access...).
SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Valid drivers license.
2) Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
3) Exposure and knowledge of PC desktop software/hardware.
4) Demonstrate knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
5) Demonstrate knowledge of Operating System installation and upgrades.
6) Demonstrate knowledge of PC hardware/component installation.
7) Ability to transport computer equipment (IE. PCs, printers, Monitors...) to various sites.
Familiarity with Outlook is a plus.
Familiarity with Network Equipment and software is a plus.
Familiarity with HP printers and drivers.
COLLEGE STUDENT PREFERRED.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.
