Job Description
Plans and buys one or more specific commodities consistent with total quality, cost and schedule requirements. The incumbent keeps abreast of industry trends for assigned commodities that may affect quality, cost, availability and/or risk; establishes and maintains supplier relationships to minimize risk and disruptions; and manages the supplier base and contract adherence. Normally receives no instruction on routine work; general instructions on new assignments Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing data from which answers can be readily obtained Handles problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Adheres to policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in buyer/planner role required.
- College degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Computer skills, adept in MS Office required. Must be able to quickly learn new software as needed. Must be able to pull data and create Excel reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be flexible and able to keep up in fast changing environment.
