Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Communications Technician to add to our team.  The Communications Technician performs service repair work and installation of Tech Electronics’ systems assuring that Tech’s standards of quality are maintained during the system repair or installation process. Excellent communication, documentation and organization skills, coupled with a strong work ethic and an ability to handle multiple tasks and personalities, are vital to the success of this position. Additionally, a strong customer service orientation is essential, and required, in building relationships with new and existing customers.


The position requires an Associate’s Degree in a technical field (and/or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of two(2) years in a technical field where AC/DC theory is used daily and two(2) years systems service experience.  Prior fire systems experience, daily use of AC/DC theory and a working knowledge of the NEC and BOCA National Building Codes is highly preferred.

  • Ability to apply electrical theory to systems design, repair and field installation


  • Ability to change communication style to fit the situation and audience


  •  Strong customer service orientation


  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
