Scope of Position:

Under general supervision applies knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures to perform professional project/contract cost accounting functions.  May compare actual cost-to-cost standards and prepare reports on variances. Assists in other aspects of cost finding and may provide data for purposes of estimating, budgeting, etc.  Works closely with members of the Development Department and outside customers in achieving accurate project costs.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment. A majority of time is spent in the office, working at a desk, utilizing standard office equipment, including but not limited to computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, etc. Approximately 10% of time may be spent away from the office traveling in support of Development Department, visiting project sites during various stages of project completion.

Responsibilities:

§         Provide cost data to Development Department in support of our response to Bid Requests for wind-energy projects.

§         Provide budget preparation support on projects at all stages from start to completion.

§         Update and provide weekly, monthly, and as needed cost reports to Project Managers for current projects.

§         Provide updated cost and accounting data to Accounting/Finance Department for inclusion in monthly and quarterly financial reports.

§         Provide accounting support to other wind projects and partnerships as needed.

§         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

§         3-4 years progressive Accounting experience, with project/contract cost accounting experience in the construction/development industry desired.

§         Extensive experience with an integrated accounting software package along with knowledge of spreadsheet software.

§         Experienced with Microsoft software programs including but not limited to Word and Outlook.

§         Able to demonstrate that he/she is highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
