Accounting oversight responsibility for shared service center environment to address complex accounting and financial reporting issues by providing accounting advice and strategic guidance. Work involves a high level of independent judgment, decision making, creativity and initiative. Provides internal interaction with many functions within the organization and interaction with external auditors and technical accounting resources. Job responsibilities also include developing and communicating global accounting policy to the organization.
- Assess complex accounting matters, formulate conclusions, and communicate conclusions to the organization.
- Provide accounting support to the shared services organization by providing value-based analysis that drives decisions.
- Analyze, interpret, and implement new, existing and proposed accounting policy.
- Assist in developing and communicating global corporate accounting policies and practices.
- Research accounting literature to assess and understand specific accounting situations.
- Develop and present data to the leadership of the organization.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities and implement positive change.
- Frequently contact others outside the work group.
Basic Required:
- College degree with a major in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent, e.g. Chartered Accountant with active license
- 2 + years public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred)
- Experience in public company financial reporting matters
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
- Capability to network and collaborate cross-functionally
- Capacity to manage and embrace, including an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
