As a key member of the CPU engineering team, the successful candidate will develop methodologies and run synthesis for high-performance designs and contribute to Qualcomm's state of the art products. Work with design team members across disciplines (Logic, Circuits, PD, DFT) to meet timing closure, area, power, and performance requirements

. Detailed knowledge of RISC CPU micro-architecture
. 6-8 years minimum microprocessor design experience
. Design and Synthesis experience in high performance design (high speed / low power) is a must. State of the art knowledge of semi-custom design & implementation tools
. Experience with tools and methodologies for Synthesis - hierarchical synthesis, DFT handling, retiming, clock gating, logic restructuring, optimization.
. Experience in synthesis algorithms, best RTL coding for synthesis, low-power and high-speed design trade-offs, 'physical aware' synthesis, deep sub-micron process effects
. Good software and scripting skills; knowledge of synthesis & timing algorithms
. Backgrounds on standard cell, layout, timing/power views, and characterization desired
. Verilog design experience preferred
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Ability to work in a team environment
