CTSC Tier I Data technicians are responsible for working tickets assigned to them and making customer contact with TelePacific data customers. This includes Internet services, web hosting, email as well as VoIP and its associated features such as call forwarding and voicemail. Tier I technicians must also have good typing and writing skills to perform their everyday tasks.
Will be expected to have a good understanding and experience in various telecommunications equipment in the TelePacific network. Tech must have a team-work mind set to effectively work in CTSC. Excellent Communications skills are required to effectively communicate with peers. Will work closely with field techs, CO techs, and Local Exchange Carriers to test and accept T1 circuits. Must have good personal skills, sense of urgency and dedication. Must be able to multi-task assigned duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Experience deploying
- Strong working knowledge of VoIP protocols including SIP
- Proficient in network switching and signaling fundamentals
- Knowledge of LAN and Wan
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word,
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS preferred
Experience and Skills:
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Telecommunications, or
- One (2-3) years of experience in Telecommunications, related to the test & repair of T1
DATA Circuits, computer networking, etc., or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years experience in customer support
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of networking to include TCP/IP and configuration of Small Office Home Office routers and client PCs.
- Understanding of the ILEC to CLEC relationship.
- Understanding of testing DSL and T1 loops.
- Ability to learn advanced troubleshooting using all TelePacific tools MRTG, CENTEST, EBOND and VTAG
- Familiarity with basic web publishing and email client troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with VoIP
