California Aviation Lead
Overview:

Stantec's Aviation Practice is looking for an experienced professional to serve as our "California Aviation Lead" to help direct, manage and implement our growing practice. This leader will serve in a senior seller/doer role, and will be based out of our Los Angeles (Woodland Hills), CA office.
Responsibilities:
As the "California Aviation Lead"this individual will be responsible for helping to identify and play a key role in business development pursuits throughout the state as well as managing and providing hands-on services where needed including engineering designs, and project/construction management for airport and aviation development projects. The successful candidate will work with the U.S. West Aviation Practice and California Transportation leadership in pursuing and winning projects, developing project teams as well as engineering and project management duties. Project duties may include design, coordination and approval processing of projects, as well as oversight of the work of individual design team members through all phases of development. Successful candidate will provide mentoring to team members, quality control of the project work and help to search and recruit additional staff to support the pursuit and implementation of projects. Will establish and maintain good client relations, and be involved with marketing, contracts and negotiation, project mobilization, and design, production and other client meetings. Will be able to provide overall strategy as well as technical solution development for project needs and challenges. Successful candidate will help manage and track the financial aspects of the projects, including oversight of billing, account collection, proposals, etc. The "California Aviation Lead" is a key position within Aviation and California leadership and will be critical to directing the growth strategy and project wins in the state.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 15 to 20 years of progressively responsible related experience in aviation Previous experience in airport business development Previous leadership experience including roles in Airport development as Senior Project Manager, Project Engineer and Construction Manager Experience with California Aviation clients a requirement. - Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- California PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Successful candidate must have a proven project track record, strong references, ability to work as a leader and team player, as well as possess good communication and technical skills
