Time Warner Cable currently seeks a/an Capital Reporting Analyst for our Accounting/Finance Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze various processes or activities, assist with the month end close process, provide support to the group supervisors as needed and complete all the necessary reporting requirements. This includes preparing journal entries, ad-hoc analysis, and monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting. This position will handle a high volume of data that must be completed with a high degree of accuracy. This position will facilitate the best practices role for standardization and will be our communication voice on standardization by writing standardized procedures for all of the processes.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Train division personnel on new standardized processes.
2. Responsible for all aspects of the reporting and integrity of the Project Costing and Fixed Assets to include the inventory accounting system and related internal controls.
3. Assist the supervisor for Fixed Assets in such areas as reviewing and correcting coding errors, monthly and quarterly write offs and transfers, monthly fixed assets sub ledger reconciliations, roll forward, property tax and property insurance underwriting data reports.
4. Assist the supervisor for Project Costing in such areas as capital spending analysis, correcting coding errors as identified; validate the proper coding of project data to ensure correctness and other ad-hoc analysis as requested by both management and corporate.
5. Coordinate and review the completion of the capitalization standards as needed.
6. Provide assistance with the quarterly balance sheet review.
7. Provide assistance with division/functional area reporting.
8. Assist with the monthly close process for both Project Costing, Fixed Assets and Inventory accounting systems.
9. Assist senior management in establishment and maintenance of accounting and accounting related procedural controls for divisions and operating field offices.
10. Assist in the coordination of internal and external audit.
11. Assist senior management and field personnel with questions and inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
12. Establish adequate cross-training to ensure continuity of work during planned and unplanned absences within the group.
13. Travel to division offices located throughout the state of Texas Region as needed (10% or less).
14. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Fixed Assets or project accounting experience.
2. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
3. Knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office products. Advanced excel skills preferred. Knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus.
4. This position requires a responsible individual with the ability to work under pressure, exercise good judgment and handle assignments independently.
5. Must have good communication skills with all internal and external contacts. Must be able to interact well with employees at all levels within the company.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize, prioritize and work efficiently and effectively to meet critical deadlines is essential.
7. Ability to work quickly and efficiently, handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience
: Bachelor's degree (B.B.A.) in Accounting or related field is preferred from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
This position requires a minimum of three years of experience. A good technical background, including financial statements preparation and consolidation experience are needed.
