We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CARDIOLOGY CARE COORDINATOR to join our team.

The Cardiology Care Coordinator will work closely with the Medical Director of our Cardiovascular Services in a high volume, fast paced environment. This position will work with each patient from the time of the first phone call or through scheduling and follow-up.  Will manage all Cardiology scheduling - post-hospital discharge cardiology follow up and office testing for patients, services (EP, cardiac surgery, vascular). stress testing sessions, defibrillator and pacemaker interrogation sessions, review the schedule and make sure patients were booked appropriately for appointments. This position will coordinate interval routine follow ups as needed for patients with ancillary cardiology.  Will assist with accreditation/reaccreditation process with the ICAEL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories) and ICANL (Intersoceital Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories).  This person will also work with Referral Management to coordinate external referral appointments pertaining to cardiology evaluations and testing for QLIMG patients and be responsible for cardiology referral tracking for QLIMG.  Will be responsible to contact patients to determine what type of cardiology care they have received externally and update QLIMG records prior to the patients’ appointment.  This position will triage patients and physician calls for appointments and a wide variety of cardiac testing, and will be responsible for obtaining patient medical reports from outside providers and hospitals. 

 

Requirements:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years of demonstrated scheduling experience.
  • Experience working in a hospital or medical practice is required(Cardiology preferred).
  • Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of AllScripts strongly preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of procedural guidelines, medical terminology, coding, and reimbursement policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written to ensure professional, effective and clear communication with medical staff, employees, patients and clients.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong follow up and “closing" skills are required.
