Job Description

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Clinical Supervisor Registered Nurse (CSRN) is a highly qualified, expert clinician who possesses advanced care skills and has demonstrated strong critical thinking skills in the face of change, intervention, and crisis.   The CVOR CSRN facilitates interventions to meet patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships. 

• Assists the Perioperative Director in planning, implementing, and assessing daily functions of CVOR perioperative nursing care and services.
  
• Provides supervisory and management oversight for staff members and department resources and processes. 
  
• Will utilize knowledge in implementing quality improvement and maintaining Standards of Care/ Standards of Practice.
  
• Serve as role model, mentor, educator, and evaluator in the CVOR-Open Heart Operative Care area for the staff.

Qualifications

• Prefer at least three years open heart supervisory experience.
  
• Minimum requirement: Open heart skills as RN/Scrub in work area history with supervisory work history experience. 
  
• Graduate of an approved or accredited school of nursing. 
  
• Documented ability to lead and direct team members. 
  
• State of Alaska RN licensure. 
  
• BLS and ACLS Required; Certified Nurse Operating Room Recommended.
