Care Center Operations Manager
Job Description:
1. Manages the activities of the admitting staff within the care center engaged in patient pre-admission, admission and discharge processes and scheduling of patient services. 2. Manages the flow of patients. 3. Oversees the delivery of support services including patient transportation and supply inventory management. 4. Ensures patients' demographic and insurance information is accurately obtained to support billing and reimbursement for services provided. 5. Monitors effectiveness and efficiency of on going intake procedures and implements any procedural changes. 6. Collaborates with other hospital department heads in formulating procedures for new services. 7. Recruits, trains and evaluates performance of subordinate staff and recommends disciplinary actions of assigned staff as required. 8. Assists in budget preparation and is responsible for adherence to approved budget. Assists in the development, implementation and management of physician schedules in the clinic including determination of computer system template setups and scheduling procedures. 9. Ensures compliance with applicable local and national patient care regulations applicable to the Hospital and to the Interventional Radiology program, including JCAHO and DOH regulations and requirements. 10.Responsible for daily activities including appointment scheduling, medical record set-up, check-in, check-out, record management and staff coordination. 11. Responsible for oversight of clinical staffing supporting all aspects of the Interventional Radiology program, to support efficient utilization of medical providers 12. Identifies and engages in complex and expeditious problem solving to resolve daily operational problems. 13. Monitors productivity of all staff, working to maximize staffing resources, and responding to patient demand. 14. Responsible for all aspects of supply chain for a large inventory of surgical equipment and supplies.. 15. Maintains confidentiality as set forth in the policies and procedures approved by the organization. 16. Insures all patients timely access to professional services, monitoring scheduling turnaround. Maintains systems that insure that all procedures are processed expeditiously, tracked and responded to. 17. Participates in the provision of 24/7 management coverage of the department. 18. Performs other related duties.
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION: BS degree; clinical based degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of healthcare experience, preferably with six sigma/process flow training and experience KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS 1. Knowledge of organization policies and procedures. 2. Knowledge of complex scheduling and throughput principles. 3. Knowledge of computer systems, programs and applications. 4. Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information. 5 Skill in written and verbal communication. 6. Skill in process design and mapping, and clinical/operational problem solving critical.
