Level 3 is looking for a highly qualified 'hunter' sales person in the Tampa area that has a strong understanding of the telecom industry. You will be representing the industry's premier set of metro and long distance layer 1, 2 and 3 data products as well as voice/VoIP. Because of your extensive experience and success in the telecom industry, you will be able to articulate a value proposition that emphasizes the power of Level 3's 100% owned and operated end to end network.
In order to be successful, you must have a competitive nature, be a self starter, good team player and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. You have a proven track record of identifying new sales opportunities from companies headquartered in designated target market (s).
In this role you will propose and negotiate solutions to secure new sales for the Level 3 Business Markets Sales organization, develop and manage client relationships for assigned accounts in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and attain additional business. Develop and implement actions to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall share of wallet," i.e. total customer spending with Level 3.
Required skills and experience: -- 5 - 7 + years of sales experience, with a minimum 2+ years in the telecom industry -- Record of success (President's club, etc.) with excellent customer references -- Experience in solution selling IP, data, and voice network services -- At least 2 years experience carrying a K quota or higher -- Experience in strategic, technical, and business communications application sales -- Experience with Siebel forecasting system preferred -- Target Account Selling (or equivalent training) desired -- Strong communication skills and proficiency in managing the sales lifecycle, prospecting, cold calling, and selling to close
