Category Analyst - Headquarters

JOB TITLE: Category Analyst

 

 

IMMEDIATE MANAGER: Director of Insights

DIRECT REPORTS: None

CLASSIFICATION:

 

PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

The Category Analyst will be responsible for collection of data from multiple sources (IRI, ACNielsen, Consumer Data, Empower IT, dunnhumby, etc.) to create best practice selling stories and to identify opportunities for Red Bull in volume, share, promotion, price and shelf space.

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES

 

1. Generate reports with syndicated and hh panel data sources to support Red Bull’s category development strategy

2. Work with Category Development Managers to establish best practice reporting, and take on responsibility for report updates, both weekly and monthly

3. Create templates and executive summaries to analyze market trends

4. Identify opportunity gaps in pricing, promotion, shelf space and product distribution

5. Provide backup to HQ Category Development Manager

6. Work with Category Development Managers to define data standards

7. Provide support to team by responding to ad-hoc data requests, answering questions, and providing basic technical support and analysis

8. Support team needs in a timely and efficient manner demonstrating a sense of urgency, tenacity, and commitment to quality and customer service

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  1. Minimum one year of experience in the CPG industry
  2. Ability to integrate multiple tools to solve problems
  3. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to interpret the analysis results
  4. Self starter, detail oriented, highly organized, ability to multitask
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
  6. Enjoys working in a fast paced, quickly evolving role
  7. Bachelors Degree required
  8. Two years related work experience
  9. Expert in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  10. Experience with syndicated data tools such as Xlerate or Nitro
  11. Strong history of creating fact-based analyses
  12. Strong customer service aptitude, ability to work with all levels of the organization from Field Level to Executive Management
