Assisting to develop and implement category strategies via shopper, channel and customer insights with subsequent integration into customer plans. The role plays a supporting function, helping the four Henkel organizations to develop their respective growth plans and activities with customer partners. Critical to the position is driving Henkel core category space, range, share and sales, through both direct and indirect relationships with the customer. It will be essential to demonstrate category leadership and shopper marketing (retailer customer centric) expertise throughout all proposals. The Category Analyst will lead the shelf management and space planning needs of the business, as well as drive value from new data sources such as shopper insight studies.


 


 


What we offer


Develop planogram recommendations for key customers, shelf placement for NPD and trade standards (flow and segmentation principles). Complete sales analyses (product, manufacturer and category) on the impact of product shelf placement changes. Review manufacturer (Henkel and competitor) share of shelf in key accounts while making proposals for shelf optimization. Provide sales tools to field teams to assist selling the concepts into stores.
Develop convincing propositions driving Category, Customer and Henkel growth by channel, employing a strong application of category growth principles and linkages to key insights. Analyze and support business development process to make recommendations in line with both Henkel and the Retailers strategic direction. Uncover issues and opportunities to sell proposals against.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with Henkel strategic customers through superior objective insight development and presentation. Position Henkel as the category partner of choice with priority customers through a clear expertise advantage versus competitive set. Leverage these relationships into business development opportunities and co-partnering trials or joint collaborative projects.
Drive closer cross functional and business alignment between category, account and brand plans. Implement score carding or dashboards to standardize metrics and monitor them across the four businesses. Create consistent processes using devised metrics to assist formulation of joint business plans with customers. Analyze business performance (distribution, displays, POS, promotion) in order to add value to each Henkel business. On ad-hoc basis, develop central knowledge point (e.g. FAQs) combining the respective information streams to enable solutions in anticipation of support requests.
Assisting to develop understanding of shopper segmentation and profiles in US market. Acquire insights into these shoppers path to purchase and identify the most influential touch points to communicate with them (pre / in / post store). Provide guidance to Henkel Marketing team

Qualification:

Who we are looking for


Bachelor degree, qualified in business
1 – 3 years of experience in relevant roles, ideally with some analytical basis.
Demonstrated potential for career progression within Shopper Marketing or Brand Management.
Experience with external market research providers and methodologies.
Strong teamwork ability, operating smoothly cross functionally
Must be able to communicate well, translating complex ideas into presentable information
Structured planning and organization skills, capable of managing major projects simultaneously
Strong financial acumen
Exposure to commercial selling techniques
Flexibility and willingness to travel
