Job Summary

 

The TIMQ Packaging Engineer will have an active role leading the implementation of innovation projects in key sites of respective technology. He/She will also support the full implementation of the factory restructuring plan, as well as take part of the development of new regional/global sourcing products to be manufactured from this key site(s).

 

He/She will be primarily responsible for delivering an integrated Work Plan including:

 

Investigation of alternative technology processes aiming at operational complexity simplification and SC cost reduction

Implementation of the innovation projects

Strengthen integration of Supply Chain with Marketing and R&D

Review the factory capacity plan study ensuring its alignment with the coming innovation/technical initiatives

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1) Technical Solution Design

-Provide smooth implementation of projects in manufacturing/Supply Chain

-Develop the technical aspects of projects and provide leadership on implementation

-Plan and execute the innovation projects, including links with all SC areas

- Support project network preparation

-Represent Supply Chain in innovation project teams

-Basic plant capability technical assessment (in-house and third party), technical audits for hygiene and making capability screening

-Prepare scenarios to support “make or buy” decision

-Process de-bottlenecking study

2) Risk Assessment:

- Lead and carry out RA WS (Quality & Process –EEM)

3) Industrial Trials:

- Define and agree manufacturing process sheet and input on manufacturing system

-Industrial trial detailing: material availability, plant conditions, process parameters monitoring, sampling and Quality Control, trial protocol

- Lead and carry out the industrial trial (with or without filling step)

4) Investment:

- Support capital definition

- Assess required vs. available equipment / facilities to each site and third party

- Measure/estimate BCT for making capacity assessment

- Prepare list of required equipment for each site (type, size, material of construction, controls)

5) New Materials

- Validate Supplier Self-Assessment with along Vertice Team

- Carry out Measurement System Analysis for new methodologies

- Carry out supplier process capability assessment for new materials

- Evaluate impact on operation: materials receiving and handling; processing operations, material and product flow, specific SHEQ issues

6) Conversion Cost

- Give input to FIN on additional labour: pre-weighing, manual dosage, special QC etc

- Give input to FIN on lower productivity: longer BCT, longer changeover time etc

Manufacturing, FIN

- Give input to FIN on addition production expenses (special hygiene requirements, additional processing aids, etc)

7) Quality Dossier

- Identify new defects and classify them, agree rank with local RTC/MKT/Plant Quality

- Carry out quality agreement with receiving countries

8) Training

- Basic operation of new making equipment and manual operations

- Present process operation parameters & controls to operators

- Give support to new QC methodologies training

- Presentation of new innovation project to the local team

9) Reports

- Industrial trial report: test description, objectives, observations, impact on productivity, processing/filling issues, required controls and operational parameters

10) Commissioning/Production Start-up

- Carry out production start-up detailing: plant conditions, process parameters monitoring, sampling and QC

- Validate process parameters

- Carry out capability analysis (draft)

11) Post Launch Evaluation

- Carry out equipment performance & production productivity assessment

- Carry out capability analysis (final)

- Consumer complaints monitoring

12) Troubleshooting

- Analyze and identify technical solution for new or chronic manufacturing problems

- Prepare and train operators on the troubleshooting disposition table

 

Qualifications

 

Graduation is preferably in Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or correlated academic technical background. Degrees must be from an accredited university.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

At least 2 years experience in a process/product development or manufacturing

Advanced communication in English

 

Other experience required:

 

Make (Processing, Operations, Manufacturing)
