BASIC FUNCTION

          Perform duties associated with grinding of bar stock on a center-less grinding machine.

LINE RELATIONSHIP

          Reports to First or Second Shift Grinding Department Foremen.

SPECIFIC DUTIES                                                                                                                                            

          1.  Sets up machine according to information supplied on production paperwork in a timely manner.

          2.  Holds size, surface finish, roundness, TIR per customers’ requirements as described on the Work Order.

     3.  Records inspection data on WO or Paperwork for diameter, length (where applicable), surface finish, and roundness per frequency established.

          4.  Sustains production rate as determined by management.                                    

          5.  Must successfully comply with instructions on the router.                                    

          6.  Must adhere to BSC’s corporate Quality Policy and Procedures.                    

          7.  Maintains a safe working environment at all times.                                                

          8.  Performs other duties as directed by management.                                                 

REQUIREMENTS

          1.  Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds.

          2.  Able to understand and take direction from supervision.                           

          3.  Able to use micrometer, profilometer, roundness indicator, straightness indicator, tape measure and electronic measurement  systems (where applicable) such as laser micrometer, electronic data collector, etc.

         4.  Must have vision correctable to 20/20 to detect surface defects in material.      

         5.  Must be able to interpret and successfully follow all specific requirements     

listed above.
