SunGard Availability Services is an operating group of SunGard Data Systems.
Primary Emphasis:
The Architect is responsible for providing expert knowledge to support engagement delivery, product development, sales, and staff development. The operational focus includes design, creation, and sustainability of Information Availability services targeting and resolving prevailing industry and client business issues. The Architect will also be asked to participate as a billable consultant on strategic client engagements to ensure the successful delivery of consulting services to meet client needs.
The main responsibilities include:
Implement a practice strategic plan that will include consulting product improvements, product launches, business entry and business channel relationships
Build and enhance a market leading product-driven suite of consulting services dedicated to driving revenue growth and market share increase.
Develop service methodologies and best practices that result in high customer satisfaction and a reference friendly client base
Actively participate in industry-sponsored events - such as presentations, council meetings, white papers, public-relation events, etc
Provide executive level sales support for strategic clients and prospects to increase demand for higher value, programmatic consulting services (in their practice area), and grow and expand AS revenue
* Participate as a billable resource on strategic client engagements to ensure the successful delivery of consulting services to meet client needs
* Develop and institute quality programs for product delivery; Monitor client deliverables and perform routine quality review sessions to make adjustments with the product offering methodology if applicable
* Actively contribute to the Availability Consulting Services Knowledge Management process for their practice area, including content management, best practice sharing, template and processes
Maintain a world class knowledge repository for practice area: service delivery guides, sample client reports, sales presentation etc.
Prepare and delivery comprehensive training programs and collateral for consulting staff
o Provide Quality Assurance to key consulting projects with a peer review process
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Requirements:
* Undergraduate degree in Informational Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
Certification in Information Security (CISSP, CCE, etc.)
Business Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years direct consulting experience
Minimum of 7 years experience in Information availability.

Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
Demonstrated mastery of consulting at the senior management level
Exceptional organizational and communications capabilities
Experience in public speaking including presentations to senior executives and large groups
* Ability to collaborate - superior interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to win the confidence of individuals both within and outside of the organization
* Excellence in communication skills - demonstrated ability to take concepts, data and analysis and synthesize them into simpler terms for broader understanding, including executive level
* Proven track record of providing thought leadership to senior level executives and forging positive and profitable partnerships
* Demonstrated expertise in introducing new products/services and customer value propositions
* Former CSO or IT Security Manager or Information Security consulting director a plus
Strong experience with risk and vulnerability assessments, security architecture design and implementation, policy development and security information analysis
Remediation experience is a plus
Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and generally accepted information security principles
Extensive experience incubating and managing a consulting services product lifecycle
Strong presales experience with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals.
Extensive Information Security Thought Leadership experience working with marketing, sales and Industry Analysts

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands
The Senior Director of practice will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. This position requires significant travel.
Environmental Conditions
The incumbent is located in a busy, open area office. The incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and must meet with others on a regular basis.
Sensory Demands
The incumbent must spend long hours in intense concentration. The incumbent must also spend long hours on the computer entering information which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Mental Demands
There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress. The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues, think strategically and analyze issues from different perspectives to make informed decisions.
