JOB OVERVIEW:


 


Certification Specialist to support design, development, flight test and certification of Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for Transport Category Aircraft (Part 25)


 


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Development of certification documentation, such as Certification Plans, Compliance Checklists, etc.

  • Familiarity with CFR 14 Part 25 requirements and foreign regulations, in particular JAA.EASA requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Supplemental Type Certificates (STC)  and Designated Organization processes and procedures

  • Interface with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies on certification issues.

  • Act as certification lead on assigned projects

  • Function as a member of the Designation Alteration Station (DAS)/Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).

  • Coordinates all certification activities conducted by DAS/ODA designees

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:



  • A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline

  • A minimum of 10+ years experience working as Certification Specialists in an FAA Designated Organization 

  • Experience with 14 CFR Part 25 requirements and foreign regulations (JAA, EASA), including Operational Regulations (Part 91, 135 and JAR OPS-1/CS OPS-1)

  • Previous certification leadership role experience preferred

  • Good communication skills, written and oral

  • Must be computer literate and familiar with MS Office and MS Projects

  • Must be able to travel nationally and internationally
