JOB OVERVIEW:
Certification Specialist to support design, development, flight test and certification of Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for Transport Category Aircraft (Part 25)
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of certification documentation, such as Certification Plans, Compliance Checklists, etc.
- Familiarity with CFR 14 Part 25 requirements and foreign regulations, in particular JAA.EASA requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) and Designated Organization processes and procedures
- Interface with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory agencies on certification issues.
- Act as certification lead on assigned projects
- Function as a member of the Designation Alteration Station (DAS)/Organization Designation Authorization (ODA).
- Coordinates all certification activities conducted by DAS/ODA designees
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of 10+ years experience working as Certification Specialists in an FAA Designated Organization
- Experience with 14 CFR Part 25 requirements and foreign regulations (JAA, EASA), including Operational Regulations (Part 91, 135 and JAR OPS-1/CS OPS-1)
- Previous certification leadership role experience preferred
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Must be computer literate and familiar with MS Office and MS Projects
- Must be able to travel nationally and internationally
