We have an immediate opening for a certified Commissioning Agent to direct commissioning efforts on a large variety of high profile LEED and non- LEED commercial building projects including office, data center, critical facilities, retail and restaurants throughout the United States. The Commissioning Agent will coordinate with the client and lead the basic and enhanced commissioning activities on a LEED NC, CI and EB certified projects. This position will be a full time position focused solely on commissioning.  The successful candidate in this position will be educated in mechanical or electrical engineering with a designation of Professional Engineer (PE) or will have been trained in the mechanical or electrical trades.  A prerequisite for this hire will be that the successful candidate shall have documented commissioning authority experience in at least two building projects as required by the US Green Building Council's LEED Green Building Rating System(s). 
Specific responsibilities in this position will include:
" Planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of commissioning services on multiple projects at one time for both new building systems and remodels, typically throughout the Houston area.
" Participate in design reviews of mechanical and electrical plans, and specifications.
" Create start-up checklists for contractors and develop MEP commissioning and functional testing plans in support of project team efforts using industry standard best practice methods and orchestrate the tests with the contractors.
" Perform jobsite observations and field testing.
" Write commissioning reports.
" Provide consulting advisory to building owners and project teams with respect to building systems engineering and performance including energy efficiency.
" Provide technical support to project teams for building systems related issues.
" Participate in project pursuit process and client sales engagement related to commissioning efforts.
" Collaborate with project teams to identify and create new service offerings.
" The successful candidate shall demonstrate strong building systems and green building expertise gained through directly relevant project experience and education, and the ability to work with diverse groups and interests.
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in consulting to client building owners and design teams for buildings systems technical issues including design review and MEP commissioning for both new and existing buildings with a focus in commercial building projects.  The ideal candidate will also demonstrate success in the following skills and abilities:
" LEED accredited professional, and commissioning agent certification including demonstrated LEED rated project involvement
" Proven track record of performing commissioning planning, functional testing, building performance investigation including re-commissioning, retro-commissioning and/or preventative maintenance and building system troubleshooting experience for new and existing buildings
" Extensive knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation and operation
" Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to present complex technical information to a wide audience, including contractors, architects and engineers and others with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Must have proven documentation and report writing skills.
" Understanding and ability to communicate roles and responsibilities to the project team and the ability to mentor teammates.
