Who We Are

Associated Marine Institutes (AMI) serve kids nobody else wants to serve. We are guides for youth who have lost their way and need direction. We see potential in each of our students and work to help them recognize their own worth, redirect their lives and become people they never thought they could be. Our work is challenging, fulfilling and priceless.

AMI provides programs for troubled youth who have been adjudicated or have failed in conventional school settings. Our program models are designed to meet the needs of as many youth as possible and include residential programs, day programs, Infinity Schools and WINGS (Women in Need of Greater Strength) for troubled girls.

Each program model follows the AMI Way, an experiential education model that has provided success to over 80,000 students since 1969. None of our program models include razor wire, fences or cells.

Certified Teacher

Job Description

AMIkids Emerald Coast in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida seeks Certified Teachers with Math, English,Social Studies , or Reading and Certification. Applicants with Integrated Curriculum Certification preferred!

The Certified Teacher teaches middle and senior-high school classes, assists in the assessment program, maintains related administrative systems, and supervises student activities. In addition, as a team member, the Certified Teacher ensures the safety, supervision, guidance, advising and positive role modeling of students.

Job Requirements

· Valid state teacher certification as required by local, state and/or federal regulations.

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited educational institution and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word and Excel).

· Current state driver’s license.

· Satisfy criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements.

· CPR/First Aid certification.
