Key Responsibilities

•   Certified Welding Inspector needed to join our Louisville Construction Materials Testing Team.

•   Will conduct structural steel welding inspections during construction of educational, medical, industrial, commercial, and power facilities.

•   Will perform metal decking inspections, bolt inspections, nelson stud inspections, and Ultrasonic Testing.

•   Will perform inspections in the KY/IN/OH area and may have the option of traveling to other locations nationwide.

•   May also perform concrete, soil and asphalt inspections.

•   Performs inspection services on projects including standard and non-standard tests.

•   Writes clear, concise, non-routine daily reports.

•   Solves complex construction problems including resolving recorded deviations with designers, contractors, and project management.

•   Collects data without supervision.

•   Reads and interprets plans and specifications for civil, structural or environmental projects.

•   Ensures conformance with plans, specifications, and thoroughness of data collection.

•   Will oversee, train and directs tasks of less experienced technicians.

Basic/Required Qualifications

•   High School Diploma or equivalent.

•   Minimum 8 years of related construction materials testing experience.

•   AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, NDT certification, and ICC Special Inspector certification required.

•   Excellent mathematical skills.

•   Strong oral and written communication skills.

•   Ability to oversee, train and directs tasks of less experienced technicians.

•   Understanding of basic and some advanced engineering principles.

•   Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.

•   A valid driver's license is required.

•   Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.

•   Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Preferred Qualifications

•   Our ideal candidate also has other inspection certifications and experience.  Experience with concrete, soil, masonry, and asphalt testing with ICC (preferred), ACI, and NICET certifications.

Physical Demands

•   Will be carrying equipment which can weigh up to 70 pounds.  Requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.
