SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Ensures that the Packaging department is operating properly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.  Monitors floor activities in department.  Works with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures and proper maintenance of equipment.  Collects and provides any data necessary for budget creation or implementation.  Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals.  Suggest and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving procedure.  Finds cost savings within the departments daily parameters.  Identifies strengths and/or weaknesses of the employees and demonstrates the ability to train and coach to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths.  Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.  Actively works on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments.  Maintains departmental sanitation and safety operations.  Enforces all GMP’s Quality, OSHA, and AIB specifications.  Works close with maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Business Administration is preferred, with at least two years of experience with high-speed packaging equipment.  A high level of technical knowledge of packaging equipment is required.  Personal qualities of tack and dependability and ability to work well with others required.  Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.  Knowledge of computer software.

STARTING SALARY:  Up to $75,000
