General Summary
This position is responsible for the accurate and efficient manufacture or preparation of finished goods for delivery to our customers in accordance with established internal procedures and protocol.
Primary Responsibilities
· Correct packaging of finished goods into pails, drums, totes, or bulk tankers as directed by instructions found on workorders
· Manufacture of cold-blend batches and proper use of mixers, pumps, filtration devices, etc.
· Maintain efficient operation of extruder by PLC touch screens
· Specific quality control of Bluewave™ materials
· Communicate with chemists regarding product quality, research and development and other operation issues
· Assist the Research and Development and Production departments on the manufacturing of new products and procedures
· Efficient operation of wastewater treatment plant when necessary
· Communicate with Scheduler or Shift Coordinator regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issue
· Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
· Load and offload bulk material tankers and drum trucks and properly complete all related paperwork
· Perform required calibrations on equipment in accordance to ISO procedures
· Ensure accurate documentation and inventory accuracy in accordance to established doctrine
· Use all equipment safely and ensure safe operation of equipment by coworkers
· Maintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S protocol
· Assist in the prevention of quality problems and the establishment of solutions for existing issues
· Perform quality assurance testing when applicable
· Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Basic understanding of computers
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Basic math skills
· Must be able to pass pulmonary function test
· Willingness to work in a team environment
· Ability to think independently and handle tasks through to completion in an efficient manner
· Proven ability to follow procedures and handle multiple tasks, effecting a positive outcome
· Ability to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions given by a coordinator or manager
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Two years of chemical operator experience- preferred
· Forklift operation experience- preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 100lbs
· Able to physical maneuver drums up to 600lbs on to and off a pallet
· Drag hoses that can weigh up to 50lbs a considerable distance through the plant
· Frequent bending and lifting
· Constant standing during the shift
· Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
· Able to operate forklift safely
· Show proficiency in the operation of all necessary equipment
