Description

Perform and administer reports, assist and participate in product quality audits, assist in issuing and disposition of product holds, assist with process and material specifications to maintain quality.
Assist in development trials, assist in improving the process or material specifications, gathering statistical data, and assist in process and equipment trials.
Provide support with continuous improvement ideas and tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions cost initiatives.  
Assist in the identification of unacceptable performance by using analysis and technical knowledge of the product and process including waste and cost reduction.
Assist in daily activities that drive compliance deemed necessary to improve the safety, environmental, quality, process, and product systems.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering required
  • Solid understanding of chemical processes, product quality and waste reduction and experience in understanding product integrity required
  • Polymer specifications / construction / manufacturing equipment / manufacturing processes
  • Ability to understand complex technical issues
  • Chemical engineering fundamentals: chemical reactions, kinetics, mass and heat transfer, and process control.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Summer intern or co-op experience in chemical industry preferred

  • Improve raw material efficiency.
  • Identify losses.
  • Design and implement solutions.
  • Design process and recipes to accommodate new products efficiently.
  • Identify and qualify raw material supply sources.
  • Upgrade all plant process capabilities.
  • Identify shortcomings and implement solutions.
  • Optimize plant equipment usage.
  • Analyze potential equipment configurations.
  • Train technical workforce including inexperienced staff.
