Job Purpose:  To support specialty chemical company's customers and sales force by conducting research, analysis, product selection testing, and experimentation.  Initially job is in a lab setting but later it can include excursions into the field.

Duties:  Include performing water analysis (wet and instrumentation), unknown solids analysis, oil profiles, quality control testing including chemical and physical characterizations, assist in biocide efficacy testing, product selection testing, lab clean-up, and other miscellaneous duties.  Maintain a safe and clean working environment and comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations.  Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Skills/Qualifications:  Candidate will need good computer skills with knowledge of WordPerfect, Word, Access and Excel.  Will need excellent communication skills written and oral.  Ability to think independently and work with others as part of a team.  Prefer experience in method development/validation.  Candidate needs good chemistry techniques, basic safety, database design, equipment maintenance, attention to detail, quality focus with ability to perform different procedures including the use and interpretation of GC/MS, ICP, FTIR, titrations, and wet chemical analysis results.
