SUMMARY

Manages and coordinates the work of a skilled Engineering staff.  Monitors projects and directs research and development with the objective of developing new product lines and expanding existing product lines.  Supervises day-to-day Engineering functions and provides support to the Manufacturing function.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent is mandatory
  
• Must have a minimum of ten years of practical experience in the pulp & paper, chemical processing, or heat transfer industry
  
• Must have working knowledge of CAD software, including AutoCAD and Solid Works
  
• Must possess the ability to develop contacts with persons inside and outside the company; requires resourcefulness, tact, and a working knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures
  
• Must possess sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria
  
• Management experience a plus

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Report directly to the President / CEO
  
• Direct supervision of Engineering staff including hiring, educating, training, mentoring and evaluating
  
• Insure accurate and timely drawings for customer review and acceptance, vendor/subcontractor utilization, and in-house manufacturability
  
• Spearhead and oversee innovations and improved efficiencies in existing products
  
• Lead in the development of new products or services and in new applications of existing products
  
• Develop in-house, cost-effective capability to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering expertise as needed
  
• Interact with prospective customers, as required, and assist in the development of sound proposals
  
• Interact and provide support to the Manufacturing function as needed
  
• Oversee vendors/subcontractors in their supply of goods and/or services
  
• Function as Project Manager on projects assigned by President / CEO
  
• Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to insure the controlling of both indirect costs (overhead and G&A) and direct project costs
