Description:
We are leading a search on behalf of one of our Houston based clients to hire an experienced Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company with regards to long-range goals, plans and policies. The position will be responsible to plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance. Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Manage the annual budget process and create reports for the Board and Executive Management.
- Ability to conduct financial forecasting and develop forecasting improvements.
- Develop creative financial strategies that maximize returns to the company.
- Prepare, interpret and present all financial plans, policies and reports for the Board and Management.
- Oversee the research, review and assimilation of competitive industry financial reporting requirements as established by accounting and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and prescribe adequate financial modeling techniques.
- Design and develop new processes when a new transaction or business issue arises.
- Forecast for future transactions and projects and properly prioritize resources.
- Establish efficiencies for controls that eliminate as many manual processes as possible.
- Interact with independent auditors, the internal audit function, and the Audit Committee, reacting accordingly to key issues that need to be addressed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA highly desired.
- Must have a current CPA Licence.
- Minimum of twelve years experience in a senior role (CFO or Controller) in a manufacturing or marine environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and building teams;
