Portfolio Solutions, LLC is a nationally recognized investment management firm headquartered in Troy, Michigan. The firm currently manages approximately $725 million in client assets for private clients, corporate pension plans, non-profit institutions and endowments. As a result of Portfolio Solutions, LLC rapid growth and increasing demand for its unique low-cost investment strategies and services we are searching for a Chief Marketing Officer to join our team in our Troy, Michigan office.
Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Chief Marketing Officer will be to promote Portfolio Solutions, LLC unique low-cost investment strategies and services aggressively through a broad range of marketing solutions that might include: online advertising, direct mail, seminars, collateral materials including newsletters, educational materials, whitepapers, etc. The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the firm’s marketing strategies and brand-building initiatives. The candidate will lead the firm’s brand management, client acquisition campaigns, client and prospective client communications, and public relations awareness efforts. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, extremely detail oriented, self-motivated, able to handle confidential information, as well as a demonstrated ability to respond effectively to changing work loads and priorities. The candidate is someone who is forward-thinking, with a passion for exploring new ways to connect the firm’s brand to consumers.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, coordinate and monitor aggressive marketing strategies using various media forms to promote Portfolio Solutions unique brand and low-cost investment strategies.
- Responsible for all marketing initiatives including development and implementation of marketing strategies, brand initiatives across all marketing vehicles including; traditional and electronic media, internal and external marketing communications, social media networks, public relations, event trade shows and client events.
- Effectively manage, coordinate, schedule and execute all marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Develop and maintain an effect public relations plan to communicate and nurture the firms’ existing and new relationships with journalists to promote Portfolio Solutions unique brand via newspapers, magazines, television and radio.
- Develop, communicate and implement branding/visual identity standards and guidelines for all printed and online materials distributed by the firm to clients and the general public.
- Develop and implement recommendations to improve website traffic, visitor response rates and client conversions for Portfolio Solutions, LLC Internet properties.
- Prepare marketing campaign reports that will outline acquired leads, conversions to clients, response rates, campaign expenses, etc. for review with management.
- Monitor and project monthly online and traditional media spending that should correspond to specific marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Manage all phases of marketing campaigns from the development of concept and implementation through to reporting of results.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of campaigns with the goal of continuous improvement and higher response and conversion rates.
- Lead the writing, design, editing, production and distribution of all marketing and communication materials including: newsletters, brochures, whitepapers, form letters, presentations, website content, collateral materials, etc.
- Collaborate with management and support departments to develop, recommend, and monitor the implementation of client acquisition and retention marketing plans.
- Participate in marketing and communication initiatives that are focused on improving client relationships and ultimately the retention of clients and assets under management.
- Keep abreast of new marketing developments through contacts with professional organizations, publications, social networks, vendors, etc.
Qualifications and Technical Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in marketing experience.
- Experience marketing investment and financial advice and products required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment.

- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
