We are not looking for a “traditional HR” leader. We are looking for a business leader who is passionate about people and business. This person will help Merkle acquire, retain and maximize the best talent available in the industry by providing thought leadership and support to our management team.
Merkle’s approach to “HR” has been non-traditional in that we ask all managers to be responsible for HR. “People leave managers, not companies” has been a core philosophy for more than 10 years and because of that philosophy, we have a much decentralized approach to HR. We believe in principles over rules, we also want to manage the company from the best interests of the 99% of people who will do the right thing not the 1% who will not.
Our CPO will report directly to the CEO and be an active member of the Executive team. The SVP will lead the organization’s human capital effort in a manner that effectively aligns the organization and drives performance around the vision of becoming the global leader in customer relationship marketing.
Responsibilities Include:
– Creating a strong vision for HR as a strategic asset at Merkle.
– Developing an effective HR strategy with all key stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Ensure the marketing functional resources are developed, leveraged, aned shared in a manner that continually
enhances overall ROI, with a specific focus on the following:
* Recruiting & On-boarding
* Development & Engagement
* Compensation Strategy
* Rewards & Recognition
* Performance Management
- Ensure that the organization has a clear understanding of value, beliefs, and core attributes to create a strong
and cohesive culture.
Qualifications and Experience include:
– MBA preferred
– Ability to execute against a budget
– Demonstrated HR leadership experience with high growth cultures
– Experience working within a matrix environment
