York Chillers are the number one brand of chillers in the industry globally.  We are in a brand new facility.  Our new chiller test labs are state of the art and are the best labs in the chiller business globally.  The Chiller headquarters in New Freedom, PA is close to the Baltimore metropolitan area. 

What you will do

This person will lead and/or participating on cross functional teams (i.e., manufacturing, design, quality, supply chain).  Team members may be located in different regions, globally.  The teams will drive continuous improvement of products and processes to improve the performance and/or reliability of controls and software for chiller products (centrifugal, industrial systems, screw and scroll chillers).  

This person must have the knowledge to help guide the teams technically to resolve complex product design and application issues based on years of product experience, education and training. 

The candidate will have extensive knowledge of chiller operations with a focus on software and electronics.  

How you will do it

  • Participates on product development teams with emphasis on DFMEAs, design reviews, reliability test plans, design for manufacturing and helping to coordinate and follow up on field testing. 

  • Working with the Technical Communications Group, is responsible for writing the technical content of service literature which includes Installation and Operations Manuals, Service Manuals and Repair Parts List for Chiller Systems. Also, responsible for the technical content of training materials and to provide training as required.

  • Communicates with design, manufacturing and service groups globally sharing lessons learned and best practices to prevent issues from arising on new products being introduced to the market place and improve product quality and cost.

  • Interacts globally with internal Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Service groups as well as component suppliers regarding component design making certain that we maintain a high level of quality and that the products we sell are reliable. 

  • Participates on Warranty Teams to stay abreast of field issues and participate with multi-disciplined teams to find root cause and corrective actions for resolution of these issues. Must be proactive, stepping in to take the lead, coordinating and directing actions, to resolve issues as the situation may require.

  • Maintains Global Chiller Quality and Reliability Group metrics, reporting progress to other groups. 

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Other forms of training and/or education will be considered.  

  • Must have a minimum of 15 years of experience with the design, operation and/or manufacturing of centrifugal, industrial systems, scroll and/or screw chillers (or similar products). 

  • Experience working on product development team with knowledge of Product Development Process(es) including design reviews and DFMEAs. 

  • Knowledge of application and troubleshooting Building Automation Systems (BAS) using BACnet, Modbus, LON, and N2 protocols.  

  • Ability to work as part of multifunctional team. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

  • Experience accessing and using manufacturing systems a plus. 

  • Demonstrated Six Sigma skills are a plus. 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization and be fluent in English.  

  • Domestic and International travel is required (approximately 15% of time).
