University Hospitals has an opportunity for a senior level Unified Communications System Engineer with proven experience in Designing, Optimizing, Implementation and Supporting Cisco’s Unified Communications Solutions. The Unified Communications Systems Engineer is an on-site, hands-on technical position which assists in the day to day deployment, operational support, and development of the University Hospitals’ Cisco VoIP architecture and systems across 26 primarily locations. The position will work in a team environment to support 20,000 users and 2,000 call center agents, applying their understanding of the technology and business needs to clinical and business process improvement goals.

Responsibilities:
· Design, Optimize, Implement and Troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communication Solutions including Call Processing, Voicemail, Voice Gateways and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
· Provide installation and operational support for a multi-site, multi-cluster Cisco AVIDD environment
· Serve as an escalation point as a 3rd level engineer for Unified Communications within the enterprise
· Participate in on-call service rotation; provide 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis, must be available for occasional night/weekend work as required due to environmental constraints

Job Requirements
7+ years of experience with Cisco IP Telephony infrastructure, including design, implementation, and ongoing management and troubleshooting.
Proven working, hands-on knowledge with implementing, administering / maintaining, and upgrading of Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and IPCC.
Understanding of voice control protocols (SCCP, H.323, SIP) and voice codecs (G.711, G.729). Experience with designing and implementing voice gateways. Capable of troubleshooting QoS.
Strong networking background; knowledge of IP protocols and technologies Proficient use of protocol analyzers and network sniffers.
Knowledge of Cisco Voice Gateways, SIP/H.323/MGCP/SCCP
Administrative experience with Windows and or Linux operations systems; Microsoft SQL Server
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Visio and Project

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent work achievement.

Licensure and Certification Requirements
Strongly preferred:
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE); Voice Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP); Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA); Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA); Microsoft MCP (Windows Server, SQL Server); Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
