Baker is seeking a Civil Engineer with highway design experience to join our Hamilton, New Jersey office.  The selected candidate will plan, administer and oversee the design of highway/bridge projects. They will be responsible for developing plans, specifications, and reports as needed on assigned tasks.  Candidate will be technically involved in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation, detailed design work, detailed checking of design computations done by others, and general coordination of specific design of a project. Other tasks include calculating quantity estimates, occasionally supervising and scheduling work of other team members, or working closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.  The projects studies, plans, and other engineering documents will be developed by using MicroStation, In-Roads, and other engineering software.

The selected candidate is required to have 7 to 10 years of experience in highway design.  A strong knowledge of highway design principles and an understanding of New Jersey DOT and New Jersey Turnpike Authority policies and procedures are required.  Also, the candidate should be well qualified in the use of engineering software, such as MicroStation and In-Roads.   This engineering position requires a B.S.  in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.  A P.E. license is also required.  The selected candidate must be able to work in the United States immediately.
