Valdes Engineering Company (VEC) provides high quality professional engineering and project services in the Petroleum Refining, Chemicals, Power, Industrial, Food, and Pharmaceutical Industries.   We are currently seeking Civil/Structural Engineers for our office in Griffith, Indiana. 

Candidate Requirements:

Ø      Strong technical skills and an ability to perform all aspects of structural design

Ø      Experience in structural steel design, reinforced concrete and foundation design, building design, masonry design, seismic analysis, and existing concrete and steel evaluation/restoration

Ø      Familiarity with U.S.A. design codes and the ability to follow established design criteria

Ø      Experience in structural analysis

Ø      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ø      Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Ø      Experience in civil site work and drainage design is a plus

Ø      Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Ø      A minimum of three (3) years of experience concentrated in heavy industrial facilities

Ø      P.E.  License a plus

Duties:

Ø      A variety of field investigative work, in addition to the design of engineering packages to support ongoing civil and structural work at local industrial facilities.
