Classic Car Technician

Job Summary:


 


Perform routine maintenance, restoration and repair on classic automobile collection.  Prepare cars for show and transport vehicles to and from shows.


 


Qualifications:



 



Experience working on classic cars in the area of engine, chassis, and drive train.  Machine tool experience is strongly preferred.  In addition to classic car knowledge, the individual must have an outstanding mechanical skill and mechanical aptitude in addition to an excellent work ethic.  "Old world" skill and attitude desired.


Associates or Bachelors degree in Automotive Restoration required.


 



Job Responsibilities:


 



1.    Routine maintenance on collection consisting of 60+ cars including pre-war Packard, Duesenberg, Cadillac, Rolls Royce, and post-war Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, Bentley.


 


2.    Minor or partial restoration and repair projects.  For example; certain components of a car might be sent out for rebuild - from a complete engine to a carburetor.  Mechanic would be expected to remove and reinstall those items.  Most other chassis/driveline work would be done here by the Mechanic.


 


3.    Preparing cars for show and driving vehicles to and from shows (Hunter has a GMC crew cab with a 5th wheel enclosed trailer for that purpose).


 


4.    Occasional fabrication work in tool shop including lathe and milling machine.


 


      5.    Other duties as assigned.
