Searching for an experienced Tester to join a growing team in downtown DC/Chinatown, supporting DHS! Metro accessible location.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in Application and System Testing and all associated lifecycle phases
- Five (5) or more years solid working experience with System Testing
- One (1) or more years experience working within a software development lifecycle methodology (e.g. ITIL, CMMI, SDLC)
- One (1) or more years experience writing SQL queries
- One (1) or more years experience working with relational and / or hierarchal databases to facilitate programming software
- One (1) or more years experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and analyzing complex software applications
- Testing experience with the following:
- Integration testing
- Black Box
- Smoke
- Expected results
- Developing test cases/scenario's/plans
- Regression
- Peer reviews
- Experience working with PVCS Tracker - preferred
- Experience working with VB5/6, C++, ODBC, .NET framework, COM a plus
- Experience with Mercury QTP (Quick Test Pro) application - huge plus
- Experience in legacy program refresh with modern technologies - a plus
- Experience with Visual Basic Studio and Team Foundation Server - huge plus
Job Description
- Performs complex system analysis to provide solutions
- Performs system/application regression testing
- Develops software unit and integration system testing procedures and documentation to meet standards
- Develops traceability from Test Cases to Requirements
- Provides input for documentation of test execution
- Maintains communication with management and customers regarding status of software testing and problems
- Coordinates and facilitates communication with internal personnel
- Able to independently develop/execute test plans, cases, scenario's, expected results
- Able to solve independently analyze and solve problems
Essential Job Functions
- Performs highly complex testing and analyzes network systems development including integration, systems testing, interoperability testing, field test plans and customer acceptance plans to maintain the credibility/viability of the system.
- Investigates and resolves operational matters of significance in conjunction with other engineering and technical support to ensure cost effective and efficient resolution of problems.
- Designs, develops, implements and maintains test processes and diagnostic programs for the most complex system testing. Completes specifications and procedures for new products.
- Writes test plans for all levels of testing. Maintains records of test progress, documents test results, prepares reports and presents results to as appropriate.
- Works with clients to determine systems requirements; writes proposals to recommend process/program and follows through on implementation.
- Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items. Devises and applies testing procedures for products received from outside vendors.
- Participates with engineering management in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
- Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a USCIS 6C clearance (a level of Public Trust clearance)

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred
- Seven or more years of network testing experience
- Experience working with computer systems and their uses
- Experience working with telecommunications systems and their principles
- Experience working with network management and protocol system testing
- Experience working with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, HP, etc
- Experience working with data transmission protocols such as TCP/IP, etc.
- Experience working with operating systems
- Experience working with protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, POP3, etc.
- Experience working with network equipment: switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.
